Alicante Bouschet or Garnacha Tintorera is the only variety whose pulp is dark coloured, which produces wines of an intense color.
This grape requires abundant water and deep soils with phosphorus fertilizers. It bears well the low temperatures of winter.
The wines it produces are very dense, with medium acidity, rough and with a high alcohol content, although is less than Red Grenache. With an intense aroma of red fruits and a very accentuated color, that turns it into a variety very used for mixtures. It’s the most tannic variety, which makes it rich in antioxidants.
