GRENACHE XPERIENCE
NEW YORK CITY SEPTEMBER 14th
On the occasion of the International Grenache Day, on the eve of September 14th, the European Garnacha/Grenache Quality Wines program, co-funded by the European Union, organized an exclusive celebration in Manhattan, New York City. The event was the “grand finale” of the three-year-long European Garnacha Grenache Quality Wine campaign to introduce more and more Americans to the many sides of our favorite varietal.
For one night only, the venue was transformed into a vineyard for the largest Garnacha Grenache tasting ever held in the USA, with hundreds of medalist wines from the Grenaches du Monde wine competition.
Over 200 attendees’ guests from the government, academy, trade, and media wine industry enjoyed the celebration. The night included live music, as well as a presentation where top Garnacha industry members spoke about the 7th most planted grape in the world, and one of the most sustainable ones. The night was filled with delicious Mediterranean food and instagrammable moments.
On top of all, Mayor Eric Adams’ Proclamation declaring “International Garnacha Grenache Day 2023 in the City of New York”, it was the best gift from the City of New York, it truly motivates us to keep working on the promotion of one of the oldest and most versatile grapes in the globe!
